I found out a lot of information on former Governor Charles W. Lippitt in the National Governor's Association, as well as Sobel, Robert and John Raimo, eds. Biographical Directory of Governors of the US, 1789-1978, Vol. 4 Wesport. CT: Meckler Books. 1978
This inspired me to write a history behind why the park that I chose was named after Charles W. Lippitt.
